I believe that the natural world fills every child with wonder. Some of us just never outgrow it. Having lived all over the world - Singapore, California, Hong Kong, Florence, Taiwan, New York - I have always felt only truly at home immersed in nature.
My photography has a rather singular aim: it is an attempt to convey that sense of reverent wonder I feel. Along the way, perhaps to also help reveal how interconnected our living planet is, as a way to understand our place in it.
I am fortunate to have built up a diverse portfolio spanning the great wildernesses of our planet, from the arctic to the antarctic, and much in between. I am humbled that my work has now been published by the likes of National Geographic and Vanity Fair, and have made their way onto prominent spaces in homes all across North America, Europe, and Asia.
I believe that art has a role to play in protecting the natural wonders of our planet. After all, we only protect what we love. As such, I work closely with an NGO partner, African Parks, and use my art to raise funds for important conservation projects.
The art of photography to me it as much about transferring a fragment of my own soul onto an image as it is about capturing that of my subjects'. I view what I do as a work of love first, and a work of art second.
