Lenny Cornforth
"Through her striking use of oil paints and unique aerial perspectives, Lenny Cornforth brings the raw energy and serene beauty of Devon and Cornwall’s coastlines to life."
"My paintings reflect the dynamic beauty of the Atlantic coast, blending vibrant oils with personal memories to evoke the spirit of the sea and shoreline."
Endlessly inspired by the Atlantic Ocean, Lenny Cornforth translates the rugged beauty of Devon and Cornwall’s coastlines into evocative oil paintings. Drawing on her personal connection to these landscapes, her work reflects the joy of summers spent lying on the sand, walking coastal paths, and sailing the waters she loves.
Lenny's creative process begins with her own drone photography, capturing unique perspectives of rocks, sea, and shoreline. These images form the basis for her vibrant and authentic oil paintings, which seamlessly blend realism and artistic interpretation. The Camel Estuary, where she first learned to sail, and the coastline around Dartmouth, where she now lives with her husband, two sons, and dog, feature prominently in her work.
Lenny graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Fine Art and has exhibited widely across the UK, including at venues such as Oxford Castle, Edinburgh Art Fair, Waterperry Gardens, and London’s Scin Gallery. Her paintings evoke both the dynamic power and tranquil beauty of the Atlantic, offering viewers a connection to the coastal landscapes that inspire her life and work.
